One can only get the document if his/her name is on the file or they are an immediate relative of the bride or the groom.

The department of Public Health in Georgia is where the public documents of the state are being managed and this includes the marriage records. Getting a copy of the marriage certificate can be done by going to the office. Another way to get it is by sending a mail request addressed to the office. All of the requirements have to be enclosed on the mail request in order for it to be processed. The state office does not allow cash in the mail order but it can be paid through a check or mail order. The document can be obtained after several days since the mail request was sent. The document can be obtained faster if it was requested at the office. All of the waiting and the travel can be eliminated by doing the search online.
